Most don't realize or simply deny the fact that early settlers of our nation were people of faith - of the Christian faith to be more specific.
At the time of the first Thanksgiving celebration, the settlers had laws that even required everyone to attend church. Can you even imagine that today?
There is no doubt that American Thanksgiving was established and created by Pilgrims that were believers. Their faith is what pushed them to rebel and separate from English rule and their Faith in God is the only thing that sustained them during their difficult travels and hardships.
Originally, even the English celebrated a "thanksgiving" in which they gave thanks for successful crops and harvest. The Puritans and Pilgrims eventually combined the two reasons into one event which will still observe today, much to the disdain of the Pilgrims.
One simple documentation proving Thanksgiving based in Christians roots was this Congressional statement from 1789. Enough said.
Day of Thanksgiving. Resolved. That a joint committee of both Houses be directed to wait upon the President of the United States to request that he recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging, with grateful hearts, the many signal favors of Almighty God...." (U.S. Congress, in a resolution to establish a National Day of Thanksgiving, 9/25/1789
Can you even imagine our current Congress supporting this obvious and blatant endorsement of Faith?
How far we have come in removing God from our nation. We must preach the truth. American is One Nation Under God.

If Not for Christians We Wouldn't Be Celebrating the 4th
It is always funny to me that people try and claim America was not based and founded upon Christian values and beliefs. The entire reason America even exists was because families revolted from the European political and religious systems and a majority of them held to the belief that God existed and He was guiding them.
This is clearly evident in the 5 references we see of God in our very Declaration of Independence. Check it out:
“When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.”
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
“We, therefore, the Representatives of the United States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare, That these united Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States, that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown…”
“And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.”
Boom goes the dynamite!

Not a Christian Nation huh?
The first book every used in PUBLIC schools was, you guessed it....the Bible. Even the liberal, tax funded PBS channel agrees on this fact. It was our moral guide.
If our nation didn't have Christian roots or values at its core when it was founded explain why the Bible was the only textbook for a long time?

Christian Nation Resource
Google looks like it has pushed down all results for Christian Nation - figures. Here is another great resource though. We need to teach our kids the TRUTH about why America was founded before it's completely forgotten. It's already being removed from history books every year.

Lesson Two - State Constitutions Exprssed Dependence on God
How's this for some faith based reality to the founding of this great nation - the following States constitutions had language that clearly made it known that Christianity was the chosen faith of the Land and that each State had the power (not the Federal govt) to respect and honor these religious values.
Delaware, New Jersey, Georgia, Maryland, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island.
Most of the States also required that office holders be followers of Christ and the Christian faith - even Rhode Island.

Lesson One - Christian Colleges That May Surprise You
Did you know this? Four founding universities in America based their values in the Christian faith - as did the rest of the land. Check it. Snopes it out.
Harvard University was founded in 1633 by John Eliot, a minister known as the "apostle to the Indians". Harvard used to have these words in their "Rules and Precepts" in 1646: "Let every student be plainly instructed...the main end of his life and studies is to know God and Jesus Christ." Yale University was started in 1701 and required the "Westminster Confession" in which it was for the "upholding of the Christian protestant religion by succession of learned and orthodox men." King's College in New York was founded in the 1700s and at one time ran an add that said the following: "the chief thing that is aimed at in this college is to teach and engage the children to know God in Jesus Christ...". Lessons About a Faith Based Nation
As lies and deception seem to rule the day, it is imperative that the truth be preseved lest history be looked at falsly. Thus this new blog of mine.
America was founded on principals of faith; the Christian faith to be exact, and I intend to preserve and share it to all who may desire to take part in this American history journey.
I'll keep it simple - jsut quick stories, based on fact, that demonstrate the entire message of this blog as stated above. Enjoy and please share with others and share with me your findings.
